Since 2002 the Group ONET has been committed to Sustainable Development practices – or perhaps we should say, since 1860. This prior claim reinforces the legitimacy of our approach. Even if this may appear arrogant, a Group of 45,000 people cannot hold its own and increase its turnover without a clear social policy. Of course, not everything is Sustainable Development, but it is one of the deeply-embedded aspects that has always been a part of the Group's culture. Our know-how in terms of cleaning and decontamination constitutes a major advantage in the deployment of an environmental approach. Such activities have created among the men and women who make up the ONET Group, the awareness of taking part in a naturally ecological process. Regulatory constraints have thus been turned into an opportunity.

"If the Group committed itself to this approach in 2002 through apparent obligation, we nevertheless soon confirmed the full necessity of making it an opportunity. An indissociable factor in the Group's growth, the policy of A Present for the Future means we can take social and environmental aspects into account on a daily basis. Reporting is not an end in itself: A Present for the Future means practical action.
So as to take our policy further, we are moving towards a transversal approach between all our stakeholders, creating a synergy between the Divisions for innovation and putting into practice our commitments to master risks and generate value. If everybody in the Group is now aware of the subject, good practice has not yet been duplicated everywhere. Sustainable development must be made more operational.
In 2006, several agencies will put specific action plans in place. If global stakes, like the Global Compact, are part of our preoccupations, we act above all on a local level: integration in the economic fabric, being close to our customers and suppliers but also to our non-contractual stakeholders.
The ONET Group is 46,360 people, men and women of different ages and backgrounds, living for the most part in France, but also in Spain, Luxemburg, Switzerland and Belgium. These people work in the Cleaning and Multiservices professions, operate in extreme environments, and provide services in the safety and security, temporary work and recruitment fields.
The Group needs a strong social policy and a well-preserved environment to be a profitable company. We are committing ourselves to the present for the future…"
