Onet Foundation Mobilizes for Banque Alimentaire’s National Event

Volunteers and employees mobilize with the Onet Foundation to help the Banque Alimentaire (Food Bank) des Bouches du Rhône in its national collection event. A weekend of sharing and helping each other.

The Banque Alimentaire held its national collection event between November 27 and 29, bringing together over 130,000 volunteers across the country. Some 9,000 tons of food were collected around the country, which is equivalent to over 18,000,000 meals.

In Bouches-du-Rhône, our co-workers were able to get involved on Friday and Saturday at the Géant Casino de Marseille La Valentine. The volunteer team beat its own 2019 record with over 4.2 tons of foodstuffs collected in a single weekend, versus 4.4 tons the previous year over the course of a 3-day event.

All the foodstuffs donated during these two days will help top off the inventory of the Banque Alimentaire des Bouches du Rhône and will then be distributed to the 100,000 people throughout the department who the organization helps on a regular basis.

The volunteer day held annually since 2010 could not take place this year because of the health crisis. Thus, the Onet Foundation, which mostly works to improve inadequate housing, extended its operations by proposing this alternative project.

This weekend food collection was an opportunity for Onet Group employees to show support for the Company’s solidarity and sharing values and to unite around a common cause.

We thank all the donors as well as all the Group’s employees and outside volunteers who made themselves available to the Onet Foundation to take part in this charitable event.
