Road safety days at work:
an unwavering commitment!

This year's Road Safety Days will take place from May 9 to 13, 2022. A committed player in road safety for many years, we are continuing our efforts and continually raising our employees' awareness of all road risks. Thus, since 2016, we have been a partner and signatory of the "Committed Employer" charter with road safety.

Thanks to our commitment, since January 2020, our responsible development director, Laurence Grillet-Acerbo as well as our road risk prevention & eco-mobility manager, Nathalie Da Silva have been part of the government's road safety commission. An opportunity to highlight the actions we've undertaken, thanks to Nathalie's insight.

What are Onet's road safety initiatives ?

As a committed employer, the road safety of our employees is paramount. We are constantly striving to raise awareness of these risks and provide training. Road risk prevention has been part of a comprehensive approach for over 10 years. The appointment of a Group manager in charge of road risk prevention and eco-mobility is the first proof of this. Not to mention the deployment of numerous prevention sessions which have enabled us to train over 7,500 employees (on simulators or on the road with the Ecole de Conduite Française). We are providing even greater support to our branches with the highest number of claims, by implementing a specific action plan in collaboration with Codes Rousseau and the ECF, long-standing players in prevention initiatives for a @RoutePlusSure.

What do you do on these days?

Once again this year, we are implementing a number of initiatives aimed at all our employees. These are aimed at reinforcing our day-to-day work in the area of prevention, in order to create a genuine ecosystem and involve our employees. For example, our Quality, Safety and Environment managers run workshops for our various teams to raise their awareness of road safety issues. These events provide an opportunity to reiterate the 7 commitments of the Charter for Safer Roads. We also invite our employees to follow webinars on this theme. This year, we'd like to focus on the subject of blind spots. We want to make our employees more aware of this risk. Pedestrians, cyclists, motorcyclists, drivers - everyone is affected by this lack of control, which can range from a simple collision to a fatal accident. It's by raising awareness and reminding people of the essentials that we can increase our vigilance. This set of actions is part of our more global prevention policy: "Piloter Onet en Prévention".

At Onet, we're very committed to these issues! More than 2 years ago, Laurence Grillet-Acerbo and I joined the college of professionals and companies of the new National Road Safety Council (CNSR). This brings together the main players in road safety, with their respective skills and sensitivities, so that they can debate, exchange and reflect on concrete proposals to the Government to reverse the trend in road deaths. This enables us to be as close as possible to these issues and to fight against them. For many years, our Group has paid particular attention to ensuring that its activities have a positive impact on the world around it. This is how we present our actions to our customers, local authorities and partners. We anticipate new awareness-raising initiatives and new action plans to further enhance the safety of our employees.

What have you put in place as road risk prevention & eco-mobility manager?

#workplacesafety

Road Safety supports companies and public bodies in preventing occupational road risk. For the 6th year running, Road Safety is encouraging companies and public and private organizations to organize awareness-raising events for their employees as part of the Road Safety at Work Days.

Road accidents are the leading cause of death in the workplace, resulting in almost 4 million lost working days every year.

In 2020, 356 people in France were killed on work-related journeys, three-quarters of them commuting to and from work.
