From May 17 to 21, Road Safety Days 2021
Let's stay committed!

A signatory since 2016 of the national corporate call for road safety in the workplace , making 7 strong commitments to road safety in the workplace, and a member of the National Road Safety Council (CNSR) from the college of professionals and companies since 2021, Onet is a committed player in road safety .

Once again, these days enable us to raise our employees' awareness of the dangers involved, particularly on business trips.

This is an opportunity to take a closer look at the Group's actions for this week and beyond!

One week to stay mobilized!

Onet takes part in round tables and webinars !

This year, our Group has been asked to share its best practices in terms of road safety awareness and prevention!

Our Road Risk Prevention & Ecomobility Manager, Nathalie Da Silva, will be taking part in the event:

  • With one of our customers: SNCF, at a round table discussion on May 19 at 9:00 am. To raise awareness among their in-house staff, we'll be taking part as a service provider, sharing our best practices and answering their questions live.
  • With the support of the Préfecture du Var, we will be taking part in a round-table discussion on the theme of urban safety and the management of new modes of transport (cycle paths, etc.). We will be providing our expertise and advice through the prism of the actions we have implemented within our Group.
  • As part of the TOP 20 club, the Marseille metropolitan area is hosting a round table on Mobility Plans and the impact of travel on corporate travel management. Onet will be testifying to the impact of travel on the implementation of PDUs (Urban Travel Plans) managed by AOMs (Mobility Organizing Authorities).
  • With one of our partners, EKODEV : during the webinar on May 20, organized by the organization, we will present our approach and our actions linked to business travel, to show that ecomobility has an influence on road risk. Company and local authority managers in charge of mobility-related issues, or more broadly those linked to sustainable development and CSR, will thus be able to benefit from our example to help them implement this type of initiative.

Numerous actions throughout the year!

All our Quality, Safety and Environment managers, present in all the Group's businesses, will be reopening the debate with their teams on the risks encountered on the sites where we provide our services, and reminding them of our commitments to Road Safety, such as the requirement to wear seatbelts, not to exceed authorized speeds, or to adopt eco-driving practices. They will also discuss with the teams the information gathered through the analysis of accidents that have occurred during travel (whatever the mode of travel: pedestrian, vehicle, bicycle, etc.).

These days will also enable employees to share a wealth of information (feedback, answers to frequently asked questions, etc.) on the subject of road safety in the workplace.

The aim is to work on the preconceived ideas and beliefs we have about driving. Whether we're talking about the technical side of a safety distance or another aspect of road safety, we give concrete figures, and that's what helps to break down certainties and change driving habits.

Our contribution to the CNSR

On January 26, Onet joined the college of professionals and companies of the new Conseil national de la sécurité routière (CNSR ).

This Council brings together the main players in road safety, with their respective skills and sensitivities, so that they can debate, exchange and reflect on concrete proposals to the Government to reverse the trend in road deaths.

An essential body for defining public road safety policies, it has 67 full members and 44 alternate members, and welcomes a wide range of road safety stakeholders (qualified personalities, national and local elected representatives, representatives of the State, associations, the medical professions, road managers, companies and institutions with an interest in road safety), divided into seven colleges.

Prevention and safety for our employees, a priority

Continuing our actions despite the context

Throughout the crisis period we have been experiencing since 2020, Onet has continued to make all its employees aware of their safety at work. In addition to the regular safety reminders and awareness-raising campaigns we've been running for many years, a guide to Covid preventive measures in the form of protocols and instructions was handed out to our employees to help them work in complete safety. These aids set out the rules and good habits to be adopted for a gradual and progressive return to work, in line with our professions and government announcements.

Among the various precautionary measures, the health and safety rules to be adopted during journeys, whatever the means of transport used, are explained. The aim is to reassure employees and show that barrier measures are not incompatible with travel, provided certain conditions are met.

From carpooling to using bicycles and public transport, everything needs to be thought through to ensure that the risks of contamination are anticipated and controlled, so that you can travel with complete peace of mind.

This continuous monitoring and adaptation has contributed to a 30% reduction in road accidents (between 2019 & 2020) at the Group's 15 most accident-prone sites, which remained in operation in 2020. The safety coaching provided to these branches has had a positive impact on driving behavior, and has also helped to reduce their fuel consumption (thanks to the implementation of eco-driving).

" In 2020, because of this health context, we had to adapt our awareness-raising. Our on-road eco-driving training courses, for example, were initially suspended, then resumed as distance learning courses," explains Nathalie Da Silva.

Over the past 10 years, more than 7,000 Group employees have been trained. Historically, this training was carried out on simulators. Thanks to a partnership since 2018 with the French Driving School, half-day training courses in real-life road situations, raise awareness of road safety issues but also eco-driving.

"Initially, employees were rather skeptical about the benefits of devoting 1h30 to road risk prevention. Very quickly, the first employees to be trained expressed a favorable opinion of the relevance of this training. Today, prevention is part of the company's culture. The feedback on this training has been extremely positive," says Nathalie Da Silva, our road risk prevention and ecomobility manager.

Road risk prevention policy and energy transition of our vehicle fleet

In keeping with our commitment to people and the planet, our new Group fleet policy reflects this commitment. We plan to make our fleet greener by offering more electric and hybrid models, while providing transition support for our employees.

At 15 pilot sites, we're equipping our branches with charging stations for commercial vehicles (CUVs), and at the same time testing home charging solutions for passenger cars (PCs).

More than a commitment, a global approach!

Because we have always been particularly sensitive to prevention and the protection of our employees, we introduced the POP (Piloter Onet en Prévention) approach several years ago.

This initiative takes the form of a day during which we raise awareness among our employees and discuss good health and safety practices. Road safety awareness workshops are also organized.
