Industry news: analysis of the CDSE 2018 security barometer.

The Club des Directeurs de Sécurité des Entreprises (CDSE) has published the results of its Security Barometer. Here's a look at the key figures.

The barometer shows that there is still a gap between the perception of risks and the implementation of concrete actions by companies.

Focus on 2018 trends

The main risks identified

Once again this year, the international climate is having an impact on the perception of international risks. However, there is a slight downward trend in the latter, tending to approach the figures for 2014, prior to the Paris attacks :

  • 73% of executives surveyed consider international insecurity to be a threat to France,
  • Fear of terrorist acts has risen from 50% to 62% over the previous year,
  • 35% of managers mention the risk of transport accidents,
  • 23% of professionals see health risks as a threat.

Perception vs. measurement

Nearly half of all managers are unaware of their legal responsibilities when their employees travel abroad. In terms of employee safety and security abroad :

  • 46% of managers are unaware of the legal responsibilities of the company and its managers,
  • 46% of managers are not familiar with the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs' travel advice website,
  • 34% of companies do not provide employees with information on safety and security.
