Biodiversity Day
Onet Group's concrete commitments

A global awareness campaign for the past 30 years, the International Day for Biological Diversity is held every May 22. The 2022 edition, under the theme " Building a shared future for all life forms " is a reminder of the extent to which biodiversity represents the answer to several sustainable development challenges. This is an opportunity for Onet to look back at the actions it has taken to help create safer, healthier and more reliable environments.

Actions guided by our "Present for the Future" CSR policy

Initiated in 2002, our CSR policy "A Present for the Future" enables us to focus our efforts on reducing our impact.

Through the essential role played by our services, we want Onet to become a company with an impact: in other words, our contribution to social, societal and environmental issues is monitored, measurable and concerns all our activities.

We are convinced that our value lies not only in our economic and financial performance, but also in our impact and the way we do business.

The environmental aspect of our policy is based on several strong commitments:

  • Produce goods and services in a circular economy that respects biodiversity, like our Biogistic responsible waste management solution.
  • Develop activities that contribute to the use of low-carbon energy.
  • Raising awareness of biodiversity conservation issues among all our stakeholders

We're particularly keen to continue supporting our customers in this direction, because it's what our business is all about and the positive impact we want to have in the long term: helping them to create healthier, safer and more reliable environments.

Focus on our actions

In addition to our customers, we are also working to raise awareness of climate issues and biodiversity protection throughout our ecosystem. Here are just a few examples of our projects: Raising our employees' awareness

Nearly 200 Onet Group managers took the Sulitest, one of the first international tests to assess individuals' knowledge of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility issues.

We believe that all our employees, each at their own level, need to be able to make informed decisions in the face of the global challenges facing our societies and our planet.

Protect

our oceans

A partnership with Fabrice Amedeo, forged in January 2020, has enabled oceanographic sensors to be installed on board his boat (IMOCA) to collect data (water salinity, its Co2 content or even its phytoplankton content) to help scientists better understand the impact of global warming on the oceans for the preservation of the oceans and the planet.

During the last Vendée Globe, skipper and former journalist Fabrice Amedeo collected 53 samples using the microplastics sensor on board his IMOCA Nexans - Art & Fenêtres.

On March 30, 2022, teams from Ifremer Brest, the University of Bordeaux and the IRD revealed the first results, live from our headquarters.

Promote
pollination

With our strong commitment to the environment, we're also helping to pollinate our cities.

Since 2015, 21 beehives have been installed at Onet's head office in Marseille. A project, desired by Élisabeth Coquet Reinier, Chairman of Holding Reinier, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Onet SA and Chairman of the Responsible Development Committeé, allows us to involve our employees by raising their awareness of the protection of bees, and therefore of biodiversity more generally. For example, they are invited to take part in the honey harvest.

Clean up
our beaches

Last September, we were also involved in a clean beach operation in Marseille.

At the initiative of the Cercle des Nageurs de Marseille and the Pure Océan Foundation, some fifty of our employees collected and raised awareness of the impact of pollution linked to aquatic waste.

No less than 624 kg of garbage was collected! This operation will be repeated in the Vendée in 2022.
