Marie Wattel performs brilliantly at the World Swimming Championships in Singapore!

A new French record in the 4×100 m relay and a new course for mixed races.

At the World Swimming Championships in Singapore, Marie Wattelan international swimmer supported by the Onet Group, took part in a historic performance in the women's 4×100 m freestyle relay on Sunday July 27, 2025.

Alongside team-mates Marina Jehl, Albane Cachot and Béryl Gastaldello, Marie Wattel helped to break the French record, completing the final in 3'34''62. This performance erased the previous record dating from 2018 and placed the French team fifth in the world in the discipline. Marie, who concluded the relay, shared her enthusiasm after the race:

I knew that the Netherlands would finish strongly with world champion Marrit Steenbergen, so I tried to hang on right to the end. It's true that there was a lot of adrenalin because the girls launched the relay so well. I wanted to finish well and it was just a pleasure. As Béryl said, I'm proud to be with these girls. Marina and Albane are making their first world final and they've done it brilliantly. Thanks to them and to all the girls.

A long-awaited return to the international scene

With a knee injury in 2024, Marie Wattel had to stay away from the pool for several months. In 2025, she returns to competition at the highest level, with the aim of preparing for the 2026 European Championships and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. She is currently training in the United States at Arizona State University, supported by Onet, in a high-level program.

Next event: the mixed 4×100 m relay

Marie Wattel will compete again on Saturday, August 2, in the mixed 4×100 m relay. This event, which combines both male and female swimmers in the same team, will be broadcast live on France 3.

Onet's support for top-level sport

Marie Wattel is one of the athletes supported by the Group, whose partnership was recently renewed alongside Emmanuelle Mörch. This commitment is part of a global strategy that sees sport as a powerful lever for raising awareness and transmitting values.
