Our CSR commitment to a global approach to waste management, effective in the COVID-19 crisis
Why and how can we offer a comprehensive cleaning service that takes into account environmental and health issues?
Capitalizing on our experience, we offer a solution in line with our CSR commitment. Let's take a look at a solution that combines respect for the environment with effectiveness against Covid 19.
BIOGISTIC, our comprehensive solution for responsible cleaning
Since 2018, we have been rolling out the Biogistic eco-friendly cleaning solution across all our branches. This comprehensive solution combines the use of eco-labeled, biotechnology-based products with integrated logistics, from ordering to on-site product use.
The entire chain is designed to control our ecological impact. Ultra-concentrated products are diluted in agencies or at major customer sites using Dilumob, a special dilution unit developed and patented by Onet's engineering teams.
The containers, meanwhile, are reused to reduce plastic waste, allowing us to cut down on product transportation and thereby limit ourCO2 emissions. Biogistic designed with the circular economy in mind.
The impact of the health crisis on cleaning
Disinfecting... the key word in the early days of the crisis
In this period of health crisis, cleanliness is often associated with disinfection, a symbol of virus neutralization.
An emergency phase was carried out with "classic" disinfection operations, i.e. combined with chemicals to comply with the initial government directives, in order to support our customers.
Adapting to the changing context of the health crisis while putting ecology at the heart of our concerns
Then there's the deployment of more environmentally-friendly solutions: since May 2020, and confirmed by the August 31 directive, the French Ministry of Labor has authorized the use of products containing surfactants (such as degreasers) that are active against SARS-COV-2, the Covid virus, for daily site cleaning. It should be noted that the coronavirus is surrounded by a layer of grease which makes it fragile when products containing surface-active agents are used to remove dirt from surfaces. These products break down the virus's greasy membrane and deactivate it. On the other hand, the directive specifies that if the risk assessment of the site justifies it, as in the case of active circulation of the virus in the company, disinfection with virucidal products or products such as bleach can be carried out in addition to cleaning.
"We've been through two phases: the emergency phase, and the search for more ecological solutions," confides Muriel Duguay, CSR Project Manager.
The products we use in our Biogistic solution Biogistic shown to comply with the Ministry of Labor’s guidelines and to be effective against the virus. Since our eco-friendly solution is already deployed nationwide and our staff are trained in its use, we were able to offer our customers a reliable, operational, and eco-friendly solution.
Convinced of this solution and in order to limit conventional disinfection, which is aggressive for humans and harmful to the environment, we were able, as of September 2020, to recommend reasoned disinfection to our customers in the tertiary sector.
Among other things, we highlighted the effectiveness of more frequent cleaning using environmentally-friendly products.
In 2020, using this solution enabled us to be even more responsive to our customers.
"Our global health and environment offering enables us to be more agile and deal with this type of crisis," concludes Muriel Duguay, CSR Project Manager.
BIOGISTIC its achieved goals: proof of a concrete commitment!
When we launched our Biogistic offering in 2018, we set a goal of delivering 80% of our services in the tertiary sector using biotechnology products. Today, we are proud to have exceeded that goal. In 2020, 84% of our services benefited from this comprehensive responsible cleaning solution.
