Onet takes action
for a responsible digital future

Through our Present for the Future policy, we have been committed for many years to reducing our impact on the environment. Cela passe également par un numérique responsable et sobre.

From March 13 to 18, 2023, as part of "Digital Cleanup Day", Onet took action by inviting Group employees in France and abroad to sort out their e-mails and storage spaces.

More than a million
emails deleted over the week

Many Onet employees took part in the challenge, and a total of 1,004,731 e-mails were deleted during the week!

It should also be noted that 11,881 GB have been removed from computer storage space.

For our first participation in this challenge, we salute the involvement of our employees and the results obtained!

What is Digital Cleanup Day?

Digital Cleanup Day is a day dedicated to raising awareness and taking action to clean up our digital environment by deleting unnecessary files, organizing our digital data and adopting good data management practices.

The day was created in 2019 by the French non-profit organization "Bye Bye Plastic" in response to World Cleanup Day, an international day dedicated to cleaning up the physical environment. The aim of Digital Cleanup Day is to extend this awareness to our digital environment, which is increasingly important in our daily lives.

Participants are encouraged to take concrete steps to clean up their digital environment, such as deleting unnecessary e-mails, sorting and organizing files on their computer, backing up important data, and adopting good data protection and privacy practices.

More than half of all users store unnecessary files

According to a survey carried out by Kaspersky in 2020, over half (52%) of computer users store files they haven't used in the last two years, which can lead to security and performance problems. In addition, the survey revealed that only 30% of users regularly back up their important data.
