An exhibition exploring motherhood across four millennia of history
Through an exceptional collection of ancient and contemporary works, the exhibition explores the many facets of motherhood in the Mediterranean region, from antiquity to the present day.It highlights the richness of representations of the mother, whether as a sacred figure, a symbol, a family anchor, a lived experience, or a subject of social and artistic inquiry.
Featuring 350 works, including about 100 from the Mucem’s collections, the exhibition showcases paintings, sculptures, installations, heritage objects, and audiovisual works. It notably features works by Prune Nourry, Sandro Botticelli, Niki de Saint Phalle, and Joana Vasconcelos, as well as major artists such as Louise Bourgeois, Pierre and Gilles, Annette Messager, Gaetano Pesce, and Zineb Sedira.
Together, these works form a sensitive and ambitious exploration of motherhood, its representations, and the diversity of experiences associated with it.
A sponsorship initiative aligned with Onet’s “
” gender equality program
By supporting this exhibition, Onet is backing a cultural project that resonates with themes central to its commitments, including the role of women, knowledge transfer, solidarity, and the diversity of life paths. This sponsorship is part of the Group’s ongoing efforts to promote professional equality and highlight women’s career paths, particularly through its Onederful program, which is based on three pillars:
- Ensuring gender diversity throughout the career path: identifying and promoting female talent, ensuring gender diversity in training and hiring, analyzing and addressing pay gaps
- Foster an inclusive environment: prevent and combat inequality, sexism, and violence; train managers; and provide reporting mechanisms and practical solutions to support work-life balance.
- Combating sexist behavior and violence against women: reaching out to the outside world, drawing inspiration from best practices, strengthening protections for our employees, and contributing to efforts to raise awareness among everyone.
To ensure the sustainability of these initiatives, the Onet Group has set specific goals:
- 100% of managers trained on gender stereotypes and non-discrimination
- 40% of senior managers will be women by 2030, compared with 30% today
- A minimum of one-third of people from the underrepresented gender in recruitment and training starting in 2026
As a Marseille-based company, we are committed to supporting cultural projects that are meaningful to our community and align with our values. By sponsoring the “Bonnes Mères” exhibition, Onet is supporting an ambitious artistic and cultural initiative that thoughtfully explores the role of women, the passing down of traditions, and the diversity of life experiences.
