Onet renews its commitment to Fabrice Amedeo until the 2028 Vendée Globe

The Onet Group has announced the renewal of its partnership with skipper Fabrice Amedeo until the 2028 Vendée Globe, extending a committed collaboration that began in 2019 to promote ocean conservation, scientific research, and public awareness.

Through this responsible sports partnership, Onet confirms its commitment to taking concrete action on environmental issues by putting high-level sport at the service of the public interest.

A long-term partnership that makes sense

For more than six years, Onet has been supporting Fabrice Amedeo in a unique adventure combining sporting performance, onboard science, and knowledge sharing. In 2019, the Group opted for a useful sponsorship by financing the installation of scientific sensors on board the skipper's IMOCA, transforming each race into a research mission.

Water temperature, dissolved CO₂, microplastics, environmental DNA: data collected on the high seas, particularly during the three Vendée Globe races contested by Fabrice Amedeo, is now available to the scientific community and contributes to a better understanding of the health of the oceans.

Vendée Globe: athletic performance and scientific impact

During the 2024-2025 Vendée Globe, Fabrice Amedeo completed his round-the-world voyage after 114 days at sea, covering nearly 29,000 nautical miles without assistance or fossil fuels. This was a remarkable achievement, but above all a rare scientific opportunity, thanks to the coverage of ocean areas that have yet to be studied in depth and the massive collection of new data.

The decision to take on board a demanding scientific device, sometimes at the expense of pure performance, confirms the consistency and sincerity of the joint commitment made by Onet and Fabrice Amedeo.

Raise awareness, communicate, and mobilize

Beyond ocean racing, the Onet x Fabrice Amedeo partnership has resulted in numerous initiatives in the field. More than 300 Onet employees and their families have already had the opportunity to discover IMOCA and the scientific challenges of the project during immersive visits. At the same time, more than 15 classes of employees' children have been made aware of marine biodiversity issues through educational presentations given by the skipper.

Onet and Fabrice Amedeo also led several coastal clean-up operations, mobilizing 400 participants and collecting more than 2 tons of waste and 20,000 cigarette butts. These concrete actions are consistent with the Group's business expertise.

Heading for 2028:
a reinforced ambition

The renewal of the partnership until the 2028 Vendée Globe opens up a new phase of development. It will enable the continuation and expansion of scientific missions on board, the exploration of new fields of research, particularly in the area of environmental DNA, and the strengthening of awareness-raising activities among employees, younger generations, and the general public.

This dynamic is part of the Onet Group's CSR strategy and its "A present for the future" approach, which aims to reconcile performance, responsibility, and lasting positive impact.

By renewing its confidence in Fabrice Amedeo, Onet reaffirms its belief that sport can be a powerful lever for engagement, communication, and innovation in the service of the planet.
