Firefighter robot: a tailor-made solution to meet our customer's challenges

Onet asserts its position as a benchmark services company by providing tailor-made solutions for its customers.

The CEA has entrusted Onet Technologies with a specific study for the design of a fire-fighting robot to reinforce the safety of its nuclear sites against the risk of fire.

A shared vision and working together enabled our teams to meet our customer's challenges and needs by providing an efficient solution.

Customer proximity, active listening and expertise:
pillars of our customer approach

As a service company, our very essence is to satisfy our customers by finding tailor-made solutions.

The experience we have acquired with our various customers and our combined "services and engineering" approach enable us to provide an expert third-party viewpoint to deploy ever more efficient solutions.

Tailor-made solutions to enhance thesafety of nuclear facilities

Following a safety review of the IZOS facility, dedicated to the storage of nuclear waste drums in casemates on the Marcoule site, CEA commissioned Onet Technologies to design a fire-fighting robot. The robot is designed to enhance the facility's fire safety.

The aim of this robot is to intervene rapidly in an irradiating and contaminating environment to extinguish fires, particularly those involving heavy smoke.

Onet Technologies' expertise in the development of specialized tools and machines enables us to meet the specific needs of the CEA.

The solution proposed by Onet Technologies will make it possible to visualize the environment despite black smoke causing total darkness.

Mastered technology
and conclusive tests

At the end of January 2023, tests were organized at the SOGEVAL ICPE in Pierrelatte, to validate the camera system selected. During the trials, the Force Locale de Sécurité (FLS), CEA's internal security service, and the CEA Marcoule project team were able to observe the effectiveness of the proposed technology.

The success of these trials has enabled us to consolidate our technical orientations and to continue advancing the project, in particular by drawing up specifications.

This robot will be the first to use this technology, making it easier to deploy and operate in difficult environments.

Once the design and manufacturing phase is complete, this robot will be used to meet other FLS needs at other facilities.
