A 22ᵉ transatlantic crossing for Fabrice Amedeo
Despite a tough start to the race and demanding weather conditions, Fabrice and Andreas showed mastery, consistency and daring, particularly in the trade winds, where the gaps with the hydrofoil boats widened.
We could hardly have hoped for more with our 2006 boat. The essential thing was elsewhere: to be at the service of Science.
Fabrice Amedeo
A sailboat in the service of science
True to its mission as anIMOCA laboratory", the boat was equipped with multiple sensors financed by Onet to collect essential environmental data:
- CO₂, salinity and temperature sensors,
- microplastics sensor,
- environmental DNA sensor,
- deployment of France and Eodyn weather buoys.
These data will contribute to a better understanding of the effects of global warming, plastic pollution and the evolution of marine biodiversity, which is at the heart of the approach championed by Fabrice Amedeo and supported by Onet.
The yacht will soon set sail again, heading for Lorient for her winter refit, and is already preparing for upcoming events, including the Route du Rhum 2026.
