This Wednesday, August 18, navigator Fabrice Amedeo set sail again on the second leg of his Tour de France microplastiques in the Mediterranean.

The aim is to use the sensors on board a sailboat to collect data that will enable its scientific partners to analyze the quality of the water along our coasts.

After taking measurements in the English Channel and the Atlantic, the skipper will set off from Banyuls-sur-mer on a crossing to Menton to collect microplastics ranging from 300 microns to 100 microns.

This slow-speed cruise, which he carries out for scientific purposes, enables him to collect small particles and thus obtain more representative samples of underwater pollution.

Fabrice Amedeo will end his Tour de France in Marseille, where he will be present alongside Onet employees who have volunteered to take part in the " Clean-up of Catalan Bay" operation on Saturday, September 4.

The event is being run in partnership with the Marseille swimmers' club, during the World Conservation Congress being held in Marseille at the same time.
