Fabrice Amedeo is heading to Marseille to continue his scientific environmental DNA sampling

Since 2019, Onet has been supporting Fabrice Amedeo in his athletic and scientific projects focused on ocean racing and ocean conservation. Over the years, this partnership has been built around a shared ambition: to combine performance, innovation, and environmental commitment.

On board his IMOCA, Fabrice Amedeo carries several scientific instruments designed to collect data essential to understanding the oceans and climate change. Water and air temperature, salinity, atmospheric pressure, and CO₂ levels are continuously monitored during voyages.

The boat also carries devices for collecting environmental DNA. These analyses help identify the species present in the areas traversed and contribute to a better understanding of marine biodiversity and the evolution of ocean ecosystems.

Since the partnership began, numerous initiatives have been carried out with Onet’s employees, customers, and partners: boat tours, cleanup operations, meetings with Fabrice Amedeo, presentations on climate issues, and exploring the onboard scientific equipment during major offshore races, notably during the Vendée Globe.

Today, a new chapter begins with the upcoming arrival of the IMOCA in Marseille after sailing from Lorient. The boat will be on display at the Quai d’Honneur in the Vieux-Port through June 8, allowing the public to explore a true floating laboratory dedicated to collecting scientific data at sea.

This stopover also marks an important milestone ahead of a major new challenge: the start of the Route du Rhum next November, in which Fabrice Amedeo will participate while continuing his scientific and environmental missions at sea.
