Onet congratulates the winners of the Vendée Globe!

While Fabrice Amedeo's team arrived on January 19 after 28 days of sailing from Cape Town to Brittany, Yannick Bestaven crossed the finish line on Wednesday, January 27, after 80 days and 3 hours of racing. However, he was not the first to cross the line in this hectic edition, and came in^3rd behind Charlie Dalin and Louis Burton at the finish.

Onet and all its employees congratulate the sailors, especially Yannick Bestaven, the event's overall winner.

Charlie Dalin takes second place on the podium after 80 days and 6 hours of sailing, followed by Louis Burton and his 80 days and 10h.

Congratulations also to all the participants and their technical teams for their collective efforts.

Why is the ranking different
from the competitors' order of arrival?

At issue were the compensations awarded by the international jury to Jean Le Cam (16 h 15), Yannick Bestaven (10 h 15) and Boris Herrmann (6 hours) for the rescue of Kevin Escoffier on November 30.

it's time to take stock and look ahead.

The scientific project supported by the Onet Group has come to fruition, with the transmission of microplastic filter boxes and seawater samples to scientific partners. The oceanographic sensors installed on board IMOCA have been working around the clock, capturing microplastics and measuring CO2, salinity and temperature. Now it's time for analysis: the results will not be revealed until 2022.

As far as sporting competition is concerned, Fabrice Amédéo has already indicated that he will be taking his revenge for the next Vendée Globe, in 2024.
