Onet wins tender to renew its industrial services contracts with Eurotunnel

Onet has renewed its contracts for industrial, cleaning and fire safety services at Eurotunnel's French site. Onet is a long-standing partner of Eurotunnel, the only infrastructure of its kind in the world, whose terminals welcome passengers 7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

An operational challenge in Europe's largest overland transport complex

Operating Eurotunnel's French terminal is a real challenge, as it is the largest overland transport complex in Europe, comparable to an international airport.

It covers 650 hectares in France, with over 1,600 employees on site, and handles 400 trains a day for passenger and freight transport.

The Channel Tunnel comprises three tunnels, each 50 km long, including 38 km under the English Channel.

Customized services optimized for cleanliness and safety

Backed by its experience in the service sector, Onet has built up a relationship of trust with Eurotunnel, thanks to tailor-made services and anticipation of its needs, an approach that is essential for meeting the fluctuating constraints of Eurotunnel's activities.

Faced with the successive challenges of Covid, Brexit and the changing expectations of customers of the LeShuttle rail services operated by Eurotunnel, Onet has optimized its organization and put its expertise to work for its customer.

Innovation, responsiveness and commitment, both in fire safety and in industrial and cleaning services, have had a significant impact on Eurotunnel's image. The sharing of knowledge between these professions, adapted to the demanding specificities of this site, has been decisive, guaranteeing impeccable cleanliness and optimum response capacity in the event of an incident.

Onet has clearly understood our requirements in terms of excellence and customer care, with cleanliness recognized by all our freight customers. It's a collaborative effort, carried out in compliance with safety regulations, and an organization that enables us to maintain a very high level of cleanliness without affecting operations.

Differentiating material and organizational innovations in waste management

The teams at Onet Propreté & Services were able to come up with distinctive material and organizational innovations, while fully embracing the challenges of decarbonizing the services provided on the site (electric vehicles, virtual reality training, raising staff awareness of environmental issues, etc.).

Through ergonomic analyses, the company has also taken steps to improve the gestures and postures of its operatives, while also offering muscular awakening operations to limit risks.

Renewal of fire safety contract

Eurotunnel also renewed its fire safety contract for the site. This success was made possible by a long-standing relationship of trust, and byOnet Security 's proven expertise in tunnel-specific risk management methods.

Fifty fire safety officers, all volunteer firefighters, demonstrate the same commitment and rigor as in a conventional fire station, and are required to undergo 2 hours of daily training. Their technical expertise in a confined environment was decisive, as was their experience and necessary collaboration with the English teams.

Eurotunnel has also renewed its fire safety contract for the site.

Onet's teams have perfectly understood the unique characteristics of our Coquelles site, which combines permanent passenger and freight flows, 365 days a year, 24 hours a day, meeting our safety requirements with professionalism and responsiveness. The new rescue mission entrusted to Onet adds an extra dimension to the safety requirements we guarantee on the site.
