Onet Technologies, fair-play champion team
at Voiles de Cherbourg

A nautical and collective event

As part of the Voiles de Cherbourg challenge, Onet Technologies represented the Group's colors for the3rd year running.

This nautical rendezvous, where the spirit of competition mingles with conviviality, saw our team rank 11th out of 16, among seasoned sailors.

The level of competition was high, with several crews training regularly for this kind of event.

Good sportsmanship rewarded

The Onet Technologies team distinguished itself by winning the special fair play award. This recognition reflects not only the behavior of our employees on the water, but also their commitment and exemplary sportsmanship.

Our employees
follow in the footsteps of navigator Fabrice Amedeo

Since 2019, Onet has been supporting Fabrice Amedeo in his #OceanCalling scientific project. In a world where ocean pollution is a major problem, a French sailor has taken concrete steps to preserve it.

By installing oceanographic sensors on board his Imoca, Fabrice Amedeo travels the globe in international races such as the Route du Rhum, the Vendée Globe and the Transat Jacques-Vabre, visiting areas not covered by scientific expeditions.

These sensors can measure parameters such as water temperature and salinity, air quality and microplastic levels. They are designed to operate 24 hours a day and can send their data in real time to terrestrial laboratories for analysis.

One of the major objectives is to map microplastic pollution in ocean surface waters and assess their chemical impregnation and toxicity. Thanks to this data, Fabrice Amedeo and his partners can better understand the environmental impact of these pollutants and work on solutions to reduce them.

En route to the Vendée Globe 2024

Fabrice Amedeo has already qualified for the Vendée Globe 2024, ahead of the official announcement on July 2. This qualification marks an important milestone in his career and underlines the importance of his commitment to both sport and science.
