Run to Clean: Sports for the Environment!

To wrap up European Sustainable Development Week 2026, more than 30 Onet employees came together for “Run to Clean,” an initiative that combines physical activity, environmental awareness, and collective commitment.

Starting from the headquarters at Place 36, they walked and ran to collect trash found around their workplace.

An initiative launched by the Onet “Let’s Go” Sports Exchange

Behind this initiative is the Running team at headquarters, led by Carole Tarquiny, whose “Run to Clean” project received the Jury’s Special Mention at the Onet “Let’s Go” Sports Grant in 2025.

This award enabled the team to receive a grant for equipment specifically designed for waste collection.

This first initiative illustrates the ambition of the Onet Sports Foundation: to encourage employee-led sports initiatives and provide them with the resources they need to grow.

This commitment continues, as the Group has just launched the third edition of the “Let’s Go” Sports Fair!

Run to Clean: Sports for the Environment

115.4 kg of waste collected

By walking or running, participants helped clear a significant amount of trash from the area surrounding the headquarters. Within a limited area and in a short period of time, the cleanup highlighted the extent of pollution in the immediate vicinity of our workspaces. Results of the collection:
  • 25.7 kg of glass
  • 28 kg of plastic and metal
  • 61.7 kg of non-hazardous industrial waste (DIB)
In addition, 18 nitrous oxide cylinders and a fire extinguisher were recovered along the route. In total, 115.4 kg of waste was weighed, in addition to these specific items. These figures serve as a reminder that trash isn’t found only on beaches or in natural areas—it’s also present in our daily lives, right outside our offices and in the places we frequent.

Sports: A Catalyst for Working Together

Beyond the fundraising, Run to Clean brought employees together around a common goal in a friendly atmosphere. The event fostered interaction among colleagues, helped employees from different departments get to know one another, and gave everyone a sense of taking concrete action to protect the environment.

It combines three complementary aspects: physical activity, environmental conservation, and social cohesion.

This initiative is fully in line with the spirit of European Sustainable Development Week and shows that everyone can take action on their own level, starting with their everyday environment.
