European Week for Waste Reduction 2022

The European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), held from November 19 to 27, 2022, aims to raise awareness of the need to reduce the amount of waste produced for and by our consumption.

This is an opportunity to highlight the actions and partnerships set up by the Onet Group, which has been working for many years to reduce its ecological footprint through its CSR policy "Un Présent pour un Futur" ("A Present for a Future"):

Glass collection and recycling in Spain

Over the last ten years, we have risen to 4th place in the Spanish glass collection and recycling market, with 27,320 tonnes processed in 2021 and a target of 36,000 tonnes in 2023.

In Spain, glass sorting has been deployed since 2010, and has gone from strength to strength. The 26,000 tonnes collected in 2020 earned us the title of Recycler of the Year, awarded by our customer Ecovidrio, the Spanish glass market manager.

Giving a second life to our IT equipment

Since 2017, Olinn, an adapted company employing people with disabilities, has been working with us to manage the recycling and reuse of our waste electrical and electronic equipment.

Deployed across the Group's 350 branches in France, this solution enables each region to organize its own equipment collection.

Processing our electrical and electronic waste

Our partnership signed since 2017 with eco-organization Ecosystem, covering the collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE), contributes to the development of mass collection, a vector of environmental, economic and social performance.

In 2021, 33.5 tonnes of waste were collected.

Since the beginning of the program, a total of 179 tonnes of cleaning materials have been recycled by our partner, and 194 items have been collected directly from our branches.

Circular Economy: our Biogistic solution

Since 2018, we've been deploying the Biogistic global ecological cleaning solution, designed with the circular economy in mind, at all our branches.

It combines the use of eco-labelled, biotechnology-derived products with integrated logistics from order to on-site use. Thanks to this process, we reduce plastic waste by 30%, saving 20 tonnes of plastic per year.

By 2021, 88% of our services in the tertiary sector were provided using biotechnology products.

Commitment to the National Institute for the Circular Economy

Since 2018, the Onet Group has been a member of the Institut National de l'Economie Circulaire, an organization whose mission is to promote the circular economy in France and Europe, thus strengthening its commitment to responsible development.

The mission of the Institut national de l'économie circulaire is to promote the circular economy and accelerate its development through a collaborative dynamic. A multi-stakeholder organization, it has over 200 members, both public and private: companies, federations, local authorities, institutions, associations, NGOs and universities.

La Cravate solidaire recycles our outfits

This year, the teams atOnet Cleaning and Associated Services 's Normandie-Hauts de France regional office organized a clothing drive to help underprivileged jobseekers, in partnership with "Cravate solidaire", an equal opportunity organization whose aim is to combat discrimination in hiring, particularly on the grounds of physical appearance.

Agencies in the Normandie-Hauts de France region were able to collect a record 235 kg of clothing for the "Cravate solidaire" in Rouen.
