As a design engineer, I am involved in complex design projects for mechanical equipment and nuclear pressure equipment, and carry out mechanical and thermo-mechanical studies.

What is the role of a design engineer?

A calculation engineer is a professional specializing in the analysis and modeling of the mechanical and thermal behavior of structures and materials. Their main role is to carry out calculations and simulations to assess the strength, stability, durability and safety of components used in various industrial sectors. This includes the analysis of stresses, strains, material fatigue, and interactions between different elements under various conditions of load and temperature using calculation tools. Calculation engineers often work closely with design teams to optimize product performance while complying with current standards and regulations. Calculation engineers can be found in a wide range of sectors, including nuclear, automotive, aeronautical and railway construction.
At Onet, engineers work exclusively in the energy sector, in nuclear power plants.
