Cultivating excellence
at Airbus Helicopters

On December 2 at Paris-Le Bourget, and December 9 at Marignane, Airbus Helicopters organized a safety day for Onet employees responsible for security and reception at its sites. On the menu: workshops to remind employees of best practices in the event of high-risk situations, a reminder of reception and safety processes, and a moment of conviviality for teams from both sites.

Ensuring the safety and reception of Airbus Helicopters sites is a major responsibility for Onet! These are exceptional sites, very important for the nation, and they require us to excel.

As Director of Operations and Innovations atOnet Security, Claude Defarges is determined to guarantee the highest possible level of surveillance at Marignane and Le Bourget. And with good reason! The Airbus Helicopters sites are both PIV - Points d'importance vitale pour la nation - and classified as national defense. Marignane is also the biggest employer in the PACA region. It welcomes some 15,000 people a day, including VIPs such as heads of state and international delegations. Last but not least, the site shares part of the runways of Marseille Provence airport, which represents a major challenge.

Maintaining operational excellence

To guarantee optimum security on the sites, Onet's 130 employees receive regular training, and attend professional refresher days twice a year. " The aim of these days is to make all teams aware of the best practices in reception and security, so as to maintain excellence at all levels, and make relations between the various professions more fluid", explains Claude Defarges. He adds: "Security agents, safety agents, mobile security agents, hostesses or receptionists, management staff: they all contribute to maintaining the smooth running of this vital production tool for Airbus ".

Reminding people of the right reflexes to adopt in the event of an incident

Organized in December, the latest refresher courses covered 3 topics: first aid in the event of an incident, control and reaction in the event of an intrusion, and reception procedures.

"During first-aid exercises, the marine firefighters explained the correct reactions to adopt when faced with an injured person. For their part, the gendarmes explained the safety rules on and around the site, and the correct reflexes to adopt in the event of an intrusion," explains Claude Defarges. He emphasizes: "By involving gendarmes and firefighters, we show our consideration for our teams: they are an integral part of the security forces! "

Another important event was a demonstration of Onet's mobile PC, a key tool for crowd control at events.

The day also served as a reminder of the importance of agent posture. In addition to rigorous compliance with safety instructions, agents must demonstrate an exemplary attitude. Posture, phrasing: they are the guarantors of Airbus Helicopers' image, as Claude Defarges sums up: "They are the first point of contact for visitors, some of whom are very prestigious, and they contribute to the image of the company for which they carry out their duties .

Thanking agents for their commitment

Last but not least, these days promote team involvement and strengthen their cohesion around moments of exchange and conviviality.

There's a real pride in working on this site, which contributes to the loyalty of our teams," confides Claude Defarges. He adds: "For our part, we invest in each of them: the training specific to these sites is consistent and updates are regular."

Regulatory training linked to the different qualifications, refresher courses for the first-aid attendant at work (SST) every two years: Onet's agents have the latest knowledge in the field. An expertise recognized by our Customer, who came to praise their work, "essential to the smooth running of Airbus Helicopters".
