Behind the scenes of the Branch Manager's job: Testimonial

As a leading international player in engineering and services, Onet offers numerous career opportunities to its employees and future talents.

The range of jobs on offer is extremely diverse. Today, let's take a look behind the scenes of a Branch Manager.

What is a waste management agency manager?

At Onet, a Branch Manager is a true profit center manager. They are responsible for analyzing operating accounts, reporting and managing teams. The diversity of his or her missions provides a highly stimulating working environment, with a wide range of tasks and plenty of scope for initiative.

Autonomy, leadership and closeness to customers and employees are also central to their duties. A real hands-on person, the Branch Manager is in direct contact with customers and employees on site.

Operational management, sales development, HR, social and financial management, etc., the branch manager is at the helm of a company in its own right, generating sales of several million euros and employing up to several hundred people.

An autonomous profit center backed by a major Group

A branch operates like a business within a business. The branch manager is in charge, while benefiting from the Group's support. In fact, it offers processes, business referents and numerous tools to facilitate the development of the operations center. In total, Onet has over 250 branches in France, giving the branch manager access to an extensive network of counterparts, ready to share best practices.

Branch managers also benefit from local operational support in the fields of HR, management control, sales, QSE and operations at Regional Management level.

To each his own!

At Onet, Agency Managers come from a wide variety of backgrounds, all of which are rewarding for everyone: they have a 5-year higher education qualification (engineering or business school), and can also come from operations as part of an internal promotion process.

The Group, which operates throughout France and internationally, offers a wide range of opportunities for internal mobility, both in terms of jobs and location.

Trust yourself, develop your skills and take the reins...

Investing in skills is a strong commitment and a major social role for the Group. Enabling employees to evolve, grow, develop and improve their performance encourages motivation and loyalty.

Several degree courses have been created to meet the needs of Group employees. In particular, future or current waste management agency managers can take advantage of the "Managing a responsibility center" course, to steer the performance of their unit.

"Growing together and cultivating our benchmark" is the motto of Onet University.

Testimony of Caroline Kergoat, Manager of the Onet propreté et Services branch in Manosque (France)

Caroline joined the Group 20 years ago as a service agent. Thanks to her dedication, her career quickly took off.

Caroline became team leader. After a few years in this position, she continued her ascent by becoming Area Manager for Digne-les-Bains.

To acquire the theoretical "baggage" required for this position, she took a one-year training course at Onet University. She was then promoted to Departmental Area Manager. In 2017, she took over management of the Manoque branch. Today, she is in charge of 280 employees.
