Launch of European Sustainable Development Week: Onet in action for the present and the future.

This year's European Sustainable Development Week (ESDW) runs from September 18 to October 8.

It aims to raise awareness among as many people as possible of the 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) in the United Nations' Agenda 2030. It also encourages concrete mobilization at all levels, both individual and collective, by promoting initiatives in favor of sustainable development via its dedicated platform.

For many years now, this has been an annual event for Onet and its employees, highlighting the work carried out throughout the year.

Since 2004, we have supported the ten principles of the Global Compact relating to respect for human rights, international labor standards, the environment and the fight against corruption. Through our roadmap, we are actively contributing to the SDGs, in line with our impact.

At Onet, sustainable development is a daily reality

During this week, our aim is to promote to our employees all the actions we carry out on a daily basis, enabling us to become a company with an impact.

For Onet today, a responsible development policy means placing sustainability at the heart of the company's transformation. The acceleration of the climate and health crises confirms the urgent need for action at every level. To achieve this, it is more necessary than ever to innovate in the design of our activities, but also to revisit our processes by integrating all aspects of sustainable development.

Making Onet a company that has a positive impact on society, in social, societal and environmental terms, is the basis of the Group's corporate social responsibility policy, called "A present for the future", and rests on four founding pillars.

  1. The vision of our family shareholders, who have been fully committed to sustainable development for many years.
  2. Nine commitments identified after analysis of the major impacts of our activities.
  3. The 2020-2023 CSR roadmap, which sets out the main CSR measures and projects that contribute to our nine commitments. It details concrete actions, associated performance indicators and targets.
  4. A dedicated organization to ensure effective implementation of this policy.

Focus on sustainable mobility

Faced with the challenges of climate change, our ambition is to implement an energy transition strategy for 2030.

In 2019, we launched a "Sustainable Mobility" project co-piloted by the Purchasing Department and the Responsible Development Department, which this year has enabled us to review our vehicle fleet by integrating more electric vehicle references and thus offer our employees help in their choice of travel mode. For example, we have teamed up with BlaBlaCar Daily, France's leading car-sharing company, to offer our Onet employees the chance to adopt this type of practice.

A group committed to the planet and mankind

We must act collectively to limit our impact on the planet. Around the theme of protecting our planet, we have made strong commitments that embody our vision of corporate responsibility in building a better, more sustainable future for all.

It's essential that we invest in people, our employees, customers, suppliers... It's important that we act for everyone and pass on our commitments to all our audiences.

We believe in accepting and valuing everyone, to create stronger companies. To ensure that diversity becomes the norm, and that we move beyond the notion of integration to one of inclusion, we need to coordinate our policies towards the various diversity groups: men, women, young people, senior citizens, jobseekers, people from disadvantaged neighborhoods, people with disabilities, and so on.

Convinced that the strength of the collective enables us to achieve great things, we want to engage, support and train our employees in our dynamic of environmental and societal responsibility.

What is SEDD 2021?

By taking part in this major sustainable development event, Onet is once again mobilizing around issues of transformation and resilience at all scales: local, national and European. "Everyday action" is the theme for 2021, in line with the Climate & Resilience Bill (drawn from the recommendations of the Citizens' Climate Convention). The SEDD is raising awareness of the UN's 2030 Agenda across Europe. It also encourages stakeholders in all territories to organize actions in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
