Onet's Climate Goals Validated by the SBTi

Onet has taken another step forward in its decarbonization efforts with the validation of its climate targets by theScience Based Targets initiative (SBTi). This validation confirms that the Group’s greenhouse gas emission reduction targets are aligned with the scientific consensus for achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.

Ambitious reduction targets for 2030

As part of this validation process, Onet agrees to:

  • reduce its absolute Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 42% by 2030, compared to 2022;
  • Reduce its absolute Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions related to the purchase of goods and services and to employees’ commutes by 25% by 2030, compared to 2022.

SBTi validation confirms that these targets comply with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) Corporate Near-Term Criteria (v5.3).

A long-term approach

This step is the result of efforts undertaken over the past several years to strengthen the measurement and management of the Group’s carbon footprint.

In particular, it is based on:

  • the deployment of the Datamart ESG and Act Carbone tools to measure and manage emissions;
  • the standardization of the methodology for reporting emissions in accordance with GHG Protocol standards;
  • engaging all departments in identifying and implementing the key strategies for reduction.

Strengthen the credibility of our decarbonization path

This validation complements the measures already in place to measure and reduce Onet’s carbon footprint. It reinforces the credibility of the Group’s decarbonization path and demonstrates its commitment to making the environmental transition a core part of its operations for the long term.

Through this certification, Onet reaffirms its commitment to taking concrete and measurable action to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and support the transformation of its business lines.

Actions We've Already Taken to Reduce Our Carbon Footprint

The validation of our climate goals is based on concrete actions already implemented within the Group to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

For Scopes 1 and 2—which cover direct emissions from our operations and those related to energy consumption—Onet has, in particular:

  • implemented an energy conservation plan between 2022 and 2024, resulting in an 11% reduction in electricity consumption and an 18% reduction in gas consumption;
  • Since 2019, it has been implementing a phased plan to electrify its vehicle fleet.

With regard to Scope 3, which covers indirect emissions related to our value chain, several measures are also being implemented:

  • the rollout of our " biogistic" solution, which is now available in 92% of our branches;
  • eco-design of work uniforms and optimization of their end-of-life processes, resulting in an 11.4% reduction in the carbon footprint of each uniform;
  • optimizing our commutes and our shopping trips.

Greenhouse gas emissions are divided into three categories: Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (emissions associated with energy consumption), and Scope 3 (other indirect emissions generated throughout the value chain).
