Onet unveils its 2020 responsible development initiatives

While the health crisis has revealed the essential nature of our businesses to the general public, our company has long been aware of its social and environmental responsibilities, and of the positive contribution of each of its employees to our society.

The services we offer, which are essential to better living together, make Onet a company with an impact.

Read our annual Responsible Development 2020 report and find out what Onet is doing to contribute to an ever healthier, safer and more reliable world.

A strong, lasting commitment to eco-responsibility

The environment and people are key concerns for Onet in all our businesses.

The Group's actions underline its dynamism in terms of innovation and dialogue with stakeholders, and are also proof of competitiveness and performance for our customers. Our company, through the essential role of the services it provides, is already making a positive contribution to society.

Tomorrow, we want Onet to strengthen its impact; in other words, we want our contribution to social, societal and environmental issues to be monitored and measurable for each of our activities.

Becoming an impact company

We are convinced that our value lies not only in our economic and financial performance, but also in our impact and the way we do business.

By reaffirming our support for the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact, by dedicating a CSR team to overseeing our 2020-23 CSR roadmap to ensure collective implementation of actions, and by setting concrete indicators and targets, we are giving ourselves the means to achieve our ambition: to make Onet a company with an impact, fully aware of the role it has to play in meeting the challenges facing our society.

The threefold health, economic and social crisis we are experiencing is urging companies to rethink their business models. More than just a raison d'être, it gives them an additional reason to act to change the world.

Onet, an asset management company aware of its social and environmental responsibilities, is multiplying initiatives aimed at reconciling development and sustainability. In recent months, we have further developed our vision and reaffirmed the principles structuring our actions.

First and foremost, financial independence, which gives us the means to achieve our ambitions and enables us to take long-term action.

Secondly, the sense of service that has always guided us. The pandemic has made us rediscover the value and fragility of human bonds. It has shown that our professions are both essential and noble. Maintenance workers, logisticians and security guards are essential to our community life.

Last but not least, the respect we show our stakeholders. But also boldness, which encourages innovation at every level.

Our company, through the essential role of the services it offers, makes a positive contribution to the evolution of society.

Today, we want Onet to become a company with impact. And the coming months will be used to assess and quantify the positive impact of our contribution to creating a healthier, safer and more reliable world.

The year we've just been through has been particularly demanding for our professions, and their essential nature has come to the fore. This unprecedented crisis is changing the way our companies are organized.

It raises the question of the value of work and the place accorded to those who work in the public interest.

The extraordinary mobilization of our employees and the collective intelligence we have deployed have enabled us to free ourselves from constraints and adapt our organization. Our goal now is for our Group to be recognized for its positive impact. We will achieve this through the collective action of all our stakeholders: employees, customers and partners.

That's why we want to value our employees even more. In 2021, we will continue to develop the skills and employability of each and every one of our employees. We will also be stepping up our efforts to promote inclusion, whether for people with disabilities, young people, seniors or gender equality. By setting an example in these areas, we will continue to make a difference in the eyes of our customers.

We will also achieve this by reaffirming our support for the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact, which have underpinned Onet's commitment since 2004. This long-standing support enables us to make a concrete contribution to the international action plan for peace, humanity, planet and prosperity represented by the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Our vision for tomorrow reaffirms our historical roots as a service company, focused on people. By being ever closer to our stakeholders, we will be stronger together to create better environments for all.

From commitment to concrete action

The year 2020 was strongly marked by an unprecedented health crisis. Our businesses were highlighted and described as essential in all the countries in which we operate. In the face of Covid-19, Onet was able to demonstrate, through the mobilization of its employees, just how supportive and committed a group we are.

We have adapted our services to protect our teams and our customers, while respecting our health and environmental commitments: preventive actions, rational cleaning, waste reduction and recycling, development of a fleet of clean vehicles, etc.

We have also strengthened our measures to develop the skills and employability of each and every one of our employees, and pursued our efforts to strengthen the inclusion of people with disabilities and the integration of young people, who have been particularly hard hit by the health and social crisis we have experienced.

Discover the list of our commitments as well as several examples of concrete actions carried out in 2020, in the new Responsible Development 2020 report.
