Once again this summer, our Onet athletes took to all kinds of venues: from the Paris Basin to Japanese waters, including the fields of the LFFP Cup and training sessions at sea. Here’s a look back at their latest sports news.

Les Marseillaises: A Successful Start to the School Year

The Marseillaises returned to competition with their first official match of the season in the LFFP Cup. On Saturday, August 22, they defeated Toulouse FC 3-0 at Francis-Turcan Stadium. It was a successful start for Nicolas Chabot’s players, who kicked off their season with a victory.

 

After a summer training camp featuring several matches, the Olympiennes can now look ahead to the rest of their season, particularly the start ofthe Arkema Première Ligue.

Lucie de Gennes & Matisse Pacaud: Heading for Japan

This summer, Lucie de Gennes and Matisse Pacaud continued their international 470 season with one major goal in mind: the World Championships, held in Enoshima, Japan.


The French duo arrived with a strong track record, particularly following their performances on the international circuit. In Enoshima, Lucie and Matisse quickly demonstrated their ambitions. This marks an important step in their journey toward major international competitions and their preparation for the next Olympic cycle.

Marie Wattel: European Gold on Home Turf

For Marie Wattel, the summer was marked by a major home event: the European Swimming Championships, held in Saint-Denis. The Onet swimmer clinched the European championship title with the French 4 × 100 m mixed medley relay team. As the anchor, Marie clocked a time of 52.94 seconds in the freestyle leg, allowing France to maintain the lead until the finish. The French relay team won with a time of 3:39.64.

 

Marie, who also competed in the 100-meter freestyle, finished sixth in the final. She also helped the French women’s 4 × 100-meter freestyle relay team secure fourth place, setting a new French record of 3:33.91 in the process. This latest international medal adds to a season already marked by three French championship titles.

Fabrice Amedeo: Already Setting His Sights on the Route du Rhum

No finish line this summer for Fabrice Amedeo, but another challenge: preparing as best he can for his next big event.


His IMOCA was launched again this spring following its winter refit, with the 2026 Route du Rhum – Destination Guadeloupe in his sights.


Fabrice is thus continuing his voyages and preparing his boat ahead of the big departure. His season is also part of his ongoing commitment to ocean observation and the collection of scientific data at sea.
