Fabrice Amedeo
Fabrice Amedeo, a native of Château-Gontier in Mayenne, France, skipper and journalist, author and fervent advocate of ocean preservation, embodies the alliance between maritime passion and environmental commitment.
Since 2019, the Onet Group has been a partner of skipper Fabrice Amedeo, a committed sailor and recognized figure in the field of onboard science. Through this responsible sports partnership, Onet combines physical performance, scientific research, and awareness of ocean conservation.
Extended until the 2028 Vendée Globe, this collaboration is fully in line with the Group's CSR strategy and its "A present for the future" approach, which aims to take concrete action for people and the planet.

An unusual career path between journalism and ocean racing
A former journalist, Fabrice Amedeo made the bold decision to devote himself entirely to ocean racing. His career path has been marked by a desire to put his passion to work in preserving the oceans. He has competed in the biggest ocean races: the Transat Jacques Vabre (now Transat Café L'Or), the Route du Rhum, and the Vendée Globe, considered the "Everest of the seas."
The Vendée Globe, an open-air scientific laboratory
On board his IMOCA, Fabrice Amedeo carries scientific sensors that transform each race into a research mission. His boat becomes a mobile scientific platform, capable of collecting valuable data in ocean areas that have not yet been extensively studied.

Why Onet has been supporting Fabrice Amedeo since 2019
Responsible and meaningful sports sponsorship
In 2019, Onet chose to support Fabrice Amedeo in his second Vendée Globe by financing the installation of high-precision scientific sensors on board his IMOCA. Developed with leading scientific partners (IFREMER, CNRS, IRD), these instruments can measure:
- water temperature and salinity,
- CO₂,
- the presence and concentration of microplastics
- Environmental DNA.
TheOcean Calling project, supported by Onet, aims to improve understanding of the health of the oceans and make the data collected available as open data. This information is now being used by numerous laboratories and is contributing to research on marine pollution and climate change.
Concrete actions to benefit the ocean and society
Raise awareness among employees and their families
Visits to IMOCA during major offshore races allow Onet employees to experience the partnership from the inside and understand the scientific challenges involved.
Passing on to younger generations
Fabrice Amedeo's presentations in children of employees are part of a process of knowledge transfer, consistent with the Onet Group's social policy.
Taking action on the ground
The coastal clean-up operations carried out with Onet volunteers are a concrete expression of the Group's environmental commitment, in line with its business expertise, particularly in the areas of cleanliness and waste management.
The educational boat: raising awareness of ocean issues among as many people as possible
Presented during the 2024-2025 Vendée Globe, the educational boat is a traveling awareness-raising tool aimed at the general public, schoolchildren, and families. Onet supported this project by mobilizing its teams to welcome visitors.

A long-term partnership for sports and the environment
The Onet x Fabrice Amedeo partnership was born out of a conviction that sport can be a lever for environmental and social engagement. From the outset, Onet wanted to support a useful, sustainable, and meaningful project that went far beyond traditional sports sponsorship.
This partnership is part of Onet's ongoing commitment to sport, as outlined on the dedicated page Onet and sport, where the Group supports athletes and events that embody its values: attentiveness, respect, and boldness.
