Combining passion and commitment

Intervention manager at Onet TechnologiesFélix Pivot has devoted his career to safety and the management of complex operations. But there's another passion that drives him just as much: scuba diving. Beyond exploration, he sees it as a way of taking concrete action to preserve the oceans.

Thanks to the Onet Sports Grant, Félix is pursuing his ambitions To become a diving trainer, to raise awareness of environmental issues related to marine environments.

A shared vocation between land and sea

In his daily work at Onet Technologies, Félix evolves in an environment where rigor, precision and respect for protocols are essential. These skills find a natural echo in scuba diving, a demanding discipline where every gesture counts.

In my profession, as underwater, it's imperative to pay attention to the smallest details and anticipate risks.

If he's not one of Onet Technologies scuba divershe shares their passion for the aquatic environment. These experts in underwater intervention carry out technical missions within nuclear facilities, notably in reactor building pools for customers such as EDF, Orano and CEA. They carry out welding, mechanical and cutting operations, in extreme conditions where safety is an absolute priority. Each mission mobilizes at least five people, guaranteeing optimum responsiveness in the event of an incident.

A successful clean-up operation

On January 25, Félix and his diving club, the Neptune Club Plongée Environnement (NCPE) in Marseille, organized a major underwater clean-up operation. For several hours, volunteers and divers explored the seabed to collect waste that had invaded the coastline.

Summary of the day:
  • 15 nets filled, i.e. nearly 300 kg of waste removed from water and beaches
  • A worrying diversity of waste: plastic bottles, cans, tires...
  • 15 participants, including 8 divers and 7 shore volunteers

Given the scope of the work ahead, a new session is already scheduled for July.

The aim is to get beach users more involved and raise awareness of marine pollution.
