Onet x Sistemic
Feminizing the professions of the future

On May 22, 2024 at the Mucem in Marseille, Onet took part in Sistemic, a movement dedicated to promoting the feminization of future professions.

In an ever-changing world, where technology and science are essential, gender equality in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects is fundamental to ensuring an inclusive and competitive society.

Onet, committed to diversity

Sistemic chose Marseille as the venue for this year's regional forum, in order to anchor its action in the local area. Onet, a partner of this year's event, was present throughout the day.

Emilie de Lombarès, Chairman of the Board Onet of the Group took part in the "How will AI revolutionize your businesses?" roundtable.

At Onet, we believe in putting people first. Our activities are all based on human relationships, proximity and contact; our businesses are all about meaning and connection, and we're proud of this in an increasingly digitalized society. We are convinced that it is the convergence of Man and Technology that will enable us to improve the quality of our services across all our activities.

Spotlight on our nuclear professions

Audrey Alimi, Director of Engineering and Reactor Services, and Justine Estanislao, Technical Architect at Onet Technologies, the Group's nuclear division, led the Masterclass "Women in jobs you've never heard of".

As part of a job dating event, our recruitment teams were on hand to talk to young people about our nuclear professions, and offer opportunities for internships, work-study schemes or jobs.

Feminizing the professions of the future

The under-representation of women in high value-added scientific and technological fields is a major challenge. The statistics speak for themselves: only 28% of women are engineers, 17% in tech, and barely 11% in cybersecurity. And yet, according to the United Nations observatory, 75% of the jobs created by 2050 will be in science and technology. To ensure that three out of four women are not excluded from the jobs created by the 4th industrial revolution, it is crucial to raise young girls' awareness of mathematics and the digital world from an early age.
