What is the role of a salesperson?

Salespeople play a key role in developing a company's revenues by representing its services and maintaining customer relations. Whether as a sales agent, traveling salesperson, or as part of a sales team, they contribute directly to increasing sales. Their salary is often made up of a gross fixed salary and a variable component, reflecting their performance and impact on sales targets. Working in a variety of sectors, salespeople also need to know how to use digital tools to optimize their time and maximize their professional opportunities.

My missions and responsibilities
as a sales representative

Prospecting : I adapt my sales approach to my target with a view to developing the company's market share in my sector.   

  • I identify and qualify new prospects; I reactivate "dormant" customers
  • I arrange physical meetings with prospects to collect and analyze their needs, including site visits.
  • I represent the company at trade shows and events

Sales development : I prepare, argue and negotiate sales offers to develop my portfolio.

  • I draw up quotations and commercial offers, checking the feasibility of the project
  • I contribute to the preparation and execution of invitations to tender, as well as to the costing.

Reporting : I report periodically on my sales actions and their performance

  • I write detailed visit reports

  • I adapt my sales strategy accordingly
